The pull-up is a compound exercise, meaning that doing a single repetition requires the engagement of more than one muscle group and more than one joint.

Increase grip strength

3. Height

The mounting holes center on the ceiling or wall at 48” for easy mounting.

Another great feature is the bar’s width. Coming at 48” you can easily use other equipment, such as gymnastics rings and resistance bands.

Having these in mind, we must say that we were not impressed with the bolts.

The Stud Bar comes with low quality hardware. This is just a minor drawback that can be taken care of with a short drive to the hardware store. You will need eight bolts.

Depending on your weight, it may wobble a little but that is to be expected. Especially if you are close to or slightly above the weight limit.

It may take around 45 minutes to put this tower together.

Mind you, it will take longer if you decide to use the tools provided by the manufacturer. They are fairly annoying. Therefore, having a ratchet will help you out tremendously.

The pull-up bar on this unit is rather thin, which is an advantage because you will be able to do more pull-ups.

Your grip strength will not increase as much as with thicker bars; however, your grip will no longer be the first to give in.

The dip handles are thicker than the pull-up bar and they may feel spaced a bit wide, depending on your height. I am 5’8 and found them just a bit too wide but nothing I could not work with.

The push-ups and sit-ups handles are also great.

In regards to the push-ups, you can do them pretty deep. However, you may want to elevate your feet too to make the exercise harder.

As for the sit-ups, I’ve done a couple just to see how the handles feel. The tower won’t fall over you, which is a good thing; however, I’m not keen on sit-ups or crunches.
